About Jacques

Jacques has been working professionally in yachting for the past 15 years. He is one of three brothers who crew in the superyacht industry. Growing up in the South African coastal town of George, Jacques childhood passion for fishing, surfing and sailing has greatly contributed to his love of the sea so it is not at all surprising that he chose a life less ordinary working onboard private yachts.

A natural leader, confident and professional, you will find Jacques’ extensive charter experience in the Mediterranean and Caribbean invaluable. In his spare time, Jacques enjoys paragliding, sailing and most other extreme watersports.

About James

James grew up 45 miles South of London near Royal Tunbridge Wells in the UK. At 17 he began working on a Classic Schooner and at 18, he headed to Antibes to begin his Yachting Career. Whilst his Mum was sceptical at first, James now holds his Master Yachts <3000T Unlimited.

James has travelled around Europe, North and Central America, Alaska, Russia, the Caribbean, North Africa, Australia, parts of Asia as well as spending 6 years in the Middle East. You may call James the ‘Del Boy’ of Yachting, he has helped a boss buy a private island and sold the first Aston Martin DB11 in the UK! James has also built his own house.

About Will

Will grew up in the South of England, in the town of Bath.

When Will turned 20 he decided to join the yachting industry, after having been exposed to the lifestyle early in his family life. He began skippering small sailboats out of Mallorca but changed after a couple of years to work on motor yachts. Coming from a family of professional and international rugby players, Will has always had a keen interest in sports and enjoys keeping active. Amongst his love for rugby and sport, Will likes to get his adrenaline going by skydiving, having completed 7 jumps to date!

When Titania is in port, Will enjoys his evenings by dining at the local Michelin star restaurants.

About James

James was born and raised alongside the ocean, in a seaside town called Bournemouth. James spent a lot of his youth participating in extreme sports such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping and sky diving. After discovering yachting through a close friend he decided to look into it as a possible career path. It wasn’t long before he found himself thoroughly enjoying living and working on the water, so much so, that one day he would like to become a captain of another large superyacht.

About Kristian

Kristian was born in and raised on the South Coast of England.

Growing up near the ocean and having a sporting talent from a young age, Kristian went on to represent his senior school in various sports including athletics, soccer and swimming. He remains fitness orientated and is a keen runner, swimmer and is always on hand to help others reach their fitness goals.

Kristian spent his summers from childhood to his adult years at a family beach hut where his love for the ocean began. His vibrant and enthusiastic personality gave him instant success in sales after leaving senior school however it wasn’t long before the calling of the seas lead him to a career in yachting. Having completed over 60,000 miles at sea his experience and enthusiasm is sure to enhance your experience on Titania.

About Allen

Allen was born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing a degree in civil engineering at Stellenbosch University, Allen decided to take a gap year to travel around Europe visiting 12 European capitals. Wanting to push himself outside of his comfort zone and having a father with a Navy background and a twin brother in yachting, Allen decided to follow suit and joined the industry in 2016.

When Allen is not onboard, he can be found in the outdoors enjoying his favorite sports or exploring new European cities and culture.

About Devon

Devon was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, where he lived until the age of 8.  His family then moved to Zimbabwe, which is where Devon calls home.

Devon has always had a strong interest in sport and fitness leading him to study Sports Science at the University of Pretoria. Devon pursued his yachting career in 2016, joining Titania in September 2017.

Amongst Devon’s inspiring achievements, he held the title as the under 19 and under 23 National Mountain Bike Champion of Zimbabwe. He was also selected for the under 19’s Zimbabwean National Triathlon Team, participating in the African Triathlon Championships. In the future, Devon would like to open a Gin bar in South Africa.

About Nicolas

Nic also grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. After spending a year coaching sports at a school in the UK, Nic returned to Cape Town where he completed a BCOM in Economics and Finance. However, he decided to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and join the yachting world.

Nic plans on progressing through the ranks in yachting while building a property portfolio.  During his free time, Nic enjoys travelling, playing any kind of sport and watching football as he is a massive Newcastle United fan (probably the only one in South Africa).

About Kyle

Kyle joined yachting in 2009, coming from a background of commercial boats and cruise liners. Kyle is an energetic and enthusiastic crew member, holding the title of the ‘Fastest Man Alive’ in the Titania Olympics. Kyle has cruised the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. He has also travelled to over 50 countries.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys sports such as football, rugby and tennis. Kyle was born in Manchester, England but is not a Manchester United supporter.

About James

James, our only Canadian crew member onboard, joining us from Southampton, Ontario.

He has always had a keen interest in boats, and from a very young age has grown up around the water. Following in the path of his father, it was only a matter of time James would begin working in the marine industry.

James started his career on commercial boats but transitioned into the yacht industry ten years later. This change has brought him here to join M/Y Titania. In James’ spare time he enjoys heading to the local gym or out for a competitive sports game.

Herman Du Plessis

Position: Chief Engineer

About Herman

Herman was born and raised a few kilometres from Cape Town.   The episode was largely blissful although he regrettably developed a fear for folding National Geographic charts.  It also involved sailing and that resulted in a chance arrival in Fort Lauderdale, joining the industry in 1998 and pursued the engineering route. Some people might say that suits his personality.

Recently back in the industry after satisfying entrepreneurial ambitions back in South Africa, he’s once more a pirate dressed in a jumpsuit.  He’s a competent cyclist, (the 2015 South African track cycling team sprint champion) and anecdotally holds the 2016 South African half marathon record for the Concept2 indoor rower.

About Matthew

Matthew was born and raised in coastal South Shields, UK.

He began his maritime career shortly after leaving school working in the merchant navy and cruise ships which is where he first heard about yachting. Feeling that yachting would be the next challenging step in his career, he made the transition in 2016. Over his maritime career, Matthew has travelled to every continent excluding Antarctica.

During Matthew’s rotation at home, he enjoys spending most of his time with his baby boy. His hobbies include Brazilian jujitsu, football (he is a huge Newcastle fan), and has many hidden talents including playing the drums and guitar and baking delicious treats for the crew.

About Nik

Of our Titania crew, Nik has had one of the more exotic upbringings growing up in Malawi, Africa. Once completing high school, he moved to the UK attaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Nik began his apprenticeship with the company Spirit Yachts, involved in building classic wooden style sailing vessels, working there for a total of 6 years. It was during this time he met colleagues who were involved in the super yachting industry.

After hearing about their experiences Nik decided to move on and look for a new position where he could extend his knowledge and skills while enjoying the lifestyle yachting presents. Nik is keen into watersports, enjoying these activities during his free time.

About Stephanie

Stephanie grew up in Sussex in the beautiful English countryside which is where she completed a degree in Events Management. Stephanie’s father is also in the yachting industry and after a trip to see him in the Caribbean, she secured her first job on a yacht. Over the last seven years, Stephanie has gained extensive experience of the industry on multiple prestigious yachts.

In her free time, Stephanie loves making cocktails and exploring new restaurants in different countries. She also enjoys horse riding, swimming and walks in the countryside.

About Rosie

Rosie grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. After studying Costume design for film and theatre at the University of the Arts London, Rosie’s work was exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum and she went on to help create costumes for films such as Gravity and The Dark Knight.

Rosie is also a skilled skier and used to ski freestyle for Great Britain. Following a skiing accident, a friend suggested that she try yachting and she’s been hooked ever since travelling around the world.

Motivated by her love of floristry, she hopes to one day have her own floristry school in the centre of Edinburgh.

About Bethany

Beth joins Titania from Tauranga, New Zealand. Her career in hospitality started at a very young age, managing restaurants and brewing coffee at the local cafes near her home. Beth’s natural kiwi adventurist side and interest to travel sent her off around the globe. It wasn’t long before she discovered the yachting industry. With her experience and skill sets, stewardessing became the next evolution in her career.

During the winter periods, Beth has been heading to the mountain town of Vail, Colorado to perfect her other favorite pastime, skiing.

After hearing about the yachting industry from a friend, she packed her bags and headed to the South of France to pursue a career as a Stewardess, and has thoroughly enjoyed her past 3 years working on yachts.

About Olivia

Liv, grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney, Australia. After leaving school she went onto study Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales. Using her eye for detail, Liv realised her passion for beauty, converting her artistic talent into making up people. She went on to study a beauty diploma at the Australasian College Broadway whilst working in a variety of different salons. Eventually starting up her very own eyebrow/ eyelash technician business before joining the yachting industry.

Aside from being a wonderful beautician/ masseuse, Liv has a talent for music. She can play the clarinet and saxophone.

About Nick

Nick was born and raised in Torquay- South of Melbourne, Australia.

Originally Nick went to university to study nursing but realizing his love for cooking, Nick quickly changed career paths. He started working in local restaurants and began his studies to become a successful chef.

Nick left Australia and travelled for 8 months before ending his adventure in London. There he was based for 3 years, working in some of the most prestigious restaurants the UK has to offer.

In 2009, Nick made the transition to the yacht industry, combining his love for travel and international cuisine. Throughout his career, Nick has focused on integrating health and nutrition into his meals, using organic produce wherever possible.

In the future Nick would like to open his own business, providing guilt-free fast food for people leading busy lifestyles.

About Rory

Rory started cooking at home from a very young age, however officially started his Chef career in the year 2000 at the age 17 at a 4.5-star seaside resort facility.
Rory then worked in a range of restaurants including Fine Dining, Seafood, a Pizza shop, Middle Eastern Cuisine, a Gastro Pub, a Bar/ Grill, Hotels and even worked in a selection of restaurants in Thailand.

After a range of experiences, Rory then moved onto a Fine Dining 3 Hat restaurant (Australia’s equivalent to 2.5 Michelin stars), which was when he received a phone call from a friend offering him the job as 3rd Chef on the prestigious 115m M/Y Luna.

After building his culinary knowledge on M/Y Luna and previously working with M/Y Titania’s Head Chef, Nick. They are both now reunited and look forward to cooking for you here onboard.

When Rory has free time, he lives in a condo with his wife in central Thailand.
