About Jacques

Jacques has been working professionally in yachting for the past 15 years. He is one of three brothers who crew in the superyacht industry. Growing up in the South African coastal town of George, Jacques childhood passion for fishing, surfing and sailing has greatly contributed to his love of the sea so it is not at all surprising that he chose a life less ordinary working onboard private yachts.

A natural leader, confident and professional, you will find Jacques’ extensive charter experience in the Mediterranean and Caribbean invaluable. In his spare time, Jacques enjoys paragliding, sailing and most other extreme watersports.

About Colin

Colin has been working professionally for the past 20 years with experience on Sailing and Motor yachts. Starting from an early age while growing up in Ireland, he has had a passion for competitive sailing, windsurfing and fishing which has greatly contributed to his love of the sea. A natural leader, confident and professional, Colin’s extensive charter experience in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas is invaluable. In his spare time, Colin enjoys sailing, photography and kite surfing. Captain Collin has a big smile and a positive can-do attitude, delivering the most comfortable and pleasurable trips.

About Shaun

Shaun started his maritime career over a decade ago when he worked as a commercial fisherman along the rugged coastline of his native country, South Africa. From sailing sub Antarctic waters to dodging sharks off the southern tip of Africa, Shaun has real maritime experience you can depend on underneath that grin and easy-going attitude of his.

In more recent years Shaun has travelled the world on some of the most prestigious yacht. It is here that some 10 years of local cruising knowledge will help lead you and your friends from the most exotic dive spots in the Caribbean to the most romantic, happening hot spots along the Mediterranean coastline

About James

James was born and raised alongside the ocean, in a seaside town called Bournemouth. James spent a lot of his youth participating in extreme sports such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping and sky diving. After discovering yachting through a close friend he decided to look into it as a possible career path. It wasn’t long before he found himself thoroughly enjoying living and working on the water, so much so, that one day he would like to become a captain of another large superyacht.

About Kristian

Kristian was born in and raised on the South Coast of England.

Growing up near the ocean and having a sporting talent from a young age, Kristian went on to represent his senior school in various sports including athletics, soccer and swimming. He remains fitness orientated and is a keen runner, swimmer and is always on hand to help others reach their fitness goals.

Kristian spent his summers from childhood to his adult years at a family beach hut where his love for the ocean began. His vibrant and enthusiastic personality gave him instant success in sales after leaving senior school however it wasn’t long before the calling of the seas lead him to a career in yachting. Having completed over 60,000 miles at sea his experience and enthusiasm is sure to enhance your experience on Titania.

About Allen

Allen was born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing a degree in civil engineering at Stellenbosch University, Allen decided to take a gap year to travel around Europe visiting 12 European capitals. Wanting to push himself outside of his comfort zone and having a father with a Navy background and a twin brother in yachting, Allen decided to follow suit and joined the industry in 2016.

When Allen is not onboard, he can be found in the outdoors enjoying his favorite sports or exploring new European cities and culture.

Will’s home is Comperdown Australia where he grew up with his 6 siblings and parents. Will comes from a sporty family where his father was a cyclist in the 1980’s Olympic Games. After studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Marketing) Will worked as a Nanny in London. Will likes spending his time off in Bali, surfing, relaxing and training for the Melbourne Fire Brigade which he would eventually like to join.

About Sam

Sam was born and raised in Jersey, Channel Islands. Growing up on an island, Sam spent most of his childhood by the sea, enjoying water sports, island hopping and taking trips to France. This sparked his interest in travelling, having spent 9 months exploring South America where he completed his advanced open water diving, and hopes to explore more of the world’s oceans through yachting.

Before joining Titania, Sam was a competitive track athlete and competed in both the 200m and 400m at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia. Using the knowledge he gained as an athlete, he studied to become a qualified sports massage therapist and a trainer.

About Nicolas

Nic also grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. After spending a year coaching sports at a school in the UK, Nic returned to Cape Town where he completed a BCOM in Economics and Finance. However, he decided to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and join the yachting world.

Nic plans on progressing through the ranks in yachting while building a property portfolio.  During his free time, Nic enjoys travelling, playing any kind of sport and watching football as he is a massive Newcastle United fan (probably the only one in South Africa).

About Kyle

Kyle joined yachting in 2009, coming from a background of commercial boats and cruise liners. Kyle is an energetic and enthusiastic crew member, holding the title of the ‘Fastest Man Alive’ in the Titania Olympics. Kyle has cruised the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. He has also travelled to over 50 countries.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys sports such as football, rugby and tennis. Kyle was born in Manchester, England but is not a Manchester United supporter.

About James

James, our only Canadian crew member onboard, joining us from Southampton, Ontario.

He has always had a keen interest in boats, and from a very young age has grown up around the water. Following in the path of his father, it was only a matter of time James would begin working in the marine industry.

James started his career on commercial boats but transitioned into the yacht industry ten years later. This change has brought him here to join M/Y Titania. In James’ spare time he enjoys heading to the local gym or out for a competitive sports game.

Herman Du Plessis

Position: Chief Engineer

About Herman

Herman was born and raised a few kilometres from Cape Town.   The episode was largely blissful although he regrettably developed a fear for folding National Geographic charts.  It also involved sailing and that resulted in a chance arrival in Fort Lauderdale, joining the industry in 1998 and pursued the engineering route. Some people might say that suits his personality.

Recently back in the industry after satisfying entrepreneurial ambitions back in South Africa, he’s once more a pirate dressed in a jumpsuit.  He’s a competent cyclist, (the 2015 South African track cycling team sprint champion) and anecdotally holds the 2016 South African half marathon record for the Concept2 indoor rower.

About Matthew

Matthew was born and raised in coastal South Shields, UK.

He began his maritime career shortly after leaving school working in the merchant navy and cruise ships which is where he first heard about yachting. Feeling that yachting would be the next challenging step in his career, he made the transition in 2016. Over his maritime career, Matthew has travelled to every continent excluding Antarctica.

During Matthew’s rotation at home, he enjoys spending most of his time with his baby boy. His hobbies include Brazilian jujitsu, football (he is a huge Newcastle fan), and has many hidden talents including playing the drums and guitar and baking delicious treats for the crew.

About Nik

Of our Titania crew, Nik has had one of the more exotic upbringings growing up in Malawi, Africa. Once completing high school, he moved to the UK attaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Nik began his apprenticeship with the company Spirit Yachts, involved in building classic wooden style sailing vessels, working there for a total of 6 years. It was during this time he met colleagues who were involved in the super yachting industry.

After hearing about their experiences Nik decided to move on and look for a new position where he could extend his knowledge and skills while enjoying the lifestyle yachting presents. Nik is keen into watersports, enjoying these activities during his free time.

About Stephanie

Stephanie grew up in Sussex in the beautiful English countryside which is where she completed a degree in Events Management. Stephanie’s father is also in the yachting industry and after a trip to see him in the Caribbean, she secured her first job on a yacht. Over the last seven years, Stephanie has gained extensive experience of the industry on multiple prestigious yachts.

In her free time, Stephanie loves making cocktails and exploring new restaurants in different countries. She also enjoys horse riding, swimming and walks in the countryside.

About Rosie

Rosie grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. After studying Costume design for film and theatre at the University of the Arts London, Rosie’s work was exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum and she went on to help create costumes for films such as Gravity and The Dark Knight.

Rosie is also a skilled skier and used to ski freestyle for Great Britain. Following a skiing accident, a friend suggested that she try yachting and she’s been hooked ever since travelling around the world.

Motivated by her love of floristry, she hopes to one day have her own floristry school in the centre of Edinburgh.

Combining her love for travelling and the water, she began working for a chartered fleet of sailing yachts where she spent 5 years working for half a year and exploring new countries for the remaining months.

Jade has worked on a mixture of Motor Yachts and Sail Yachts, having crossed the Atlantic on a 20-metre sail yacht.

After studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Management and Marketing), Courtney joined the corporate world of advertising before trading it all in for a backpack and Life on the road and at sea. Traveling 18 months in Central and South America with her twin sister and working 3 years in yachting, she finally hung up the skort and moved to London. Now she returns back to Titania to continue her career as a stewardess.

About Jean-Marie

Jean-Marie grew up surrounded by the mountains and oceans in Cape Town, South Africa, leading to her passion for nature and wildlife. She is one of our most active crew members, having been a ballet, modern and hip-hop dancer for 15 years, prior to joining yachting. Another passion of Jean-Marie’s is nutrition, following a plant-based diet, whilst continuously researching and learning more about the industry.

Given her holistic view on health, Jean-Marie realized her love for making people feel their best through beauty, having been in the beauty industry for 7 years. She is also a qualified masseuse and has expertise in health and skin care.

Jean-Marie is a strong believer that mermaids and unicorns exist!

About Bas

Bas grew up in south west Holland, and lived most of his adult life in Antwerp, Belgium. He started in the galley at the young age of 15 and has progressed to working in a number of Michelin restaurants, including the best restaurant in Holland. Fancying a new challenge, Bas decided to take his culinary expertise to the yachting industry, which he has enjoyed for the past 3 and a half years. Outside of the galley, he loves fishing, diving and searching with his metal detector.
